Direct spark ignition is an extremely efficient way to
light the burner and eliminates the need for a standing
pilot. And for added safety during operation, the remote
flame sensor constantly monitors the burner flame to
ensure it is burning as it should. |

Modulating Gas Valve &
Burner
To keep you comfortable while it keeps your energy
bills low, the gas valve delivers fuel to the burner at
a variable rate, as required, to maintain the desired
temperature. You get the heat you need, when you need
it. Designed to provide the most efficient air/gas
mixture, the shutter-free design of the burner
eliminates the need for adjustments. The burner always
delivers its flames directly into the primary heat
exchanger for the greatest efficiency. |

Two-Speed Induced Draft
Blower
Working in conjunction with the modulating burner,
Ruud's induced draft blower quietly pulls hot combustion
gases through the heat exchanger and vents them safely
outdoors. And it does this at one of two speeds,
depending on the operating level of the burner. Most of
the time it runs at the slower speed meaning lower
electricity usage and operation that is more quiet. |

Modulating ECM Blower
Motor
The advanced ECM blower motor varies in speed depending
on your demand for heat. And in continuous fan mode,
this motor is so efficient that it uses less electricity
than a 75 watt light bulb. This motor always operates at
just above a whisper, far more quietly than a
conventional blower motor, to help keep your home warm
and peaceful. |

Integrated Furnace Control
The "brain" of this furnace is the patented integrated
control board. This unique design has two processors
that check the actions of each other to ensure optimum
performance. The control directs the actions of the
blower motor, the inducer motor and other furnace
components to give you the heating capacity you need. |

Exchanger
One secret behind the superb efficiency of this furnace
is the secondary heat exchanger.
It captures heat that
escapes your primary heat exchanger and uses it to warm
your home. It is also backed by a limited lifetime
